What a beautiful blog! I have only just begun to get my "handle"on blogs and blogging and with my burgeoning interest in learning the Tarot, your site is quiet a wonderful find for me. The background on all the Queens (lovely deck, by the way) is great. I feel that, despite my Gemini air nature, that The Sybl of Cups is most "me". Very informative post, all the way around and I love how you've been able to find heroines to match each. I'll be sure to be back!
Hello Lise! :) Isn't the Sibyl of Cups lovely? I am so drawn to her but then again, I adore Mermaids! If you have any questions let me know! I love Tarot.
In my travels and readings, I have come to generally identify the Queens with sources of wisdom and comfort. All of them but one, that is: the Queen of Swords. That one still makes me uncomfortable, as my deck (as well as the other decks I read from though they do not belong to me) have associated that card with a particular person.
Now, it's not that I don't like Miss Swords--quite the contrary. She's a totally awesome person. However, the last time she played a major role in my life, it robbed me of my sanity.
ThePhotoMan I get you! I had an incident with my own Queen of Cups self that made it very difficult for me to embrace her. I finally got through that but not without a great deal of work.
This was very helpful - and I love the imagery of this deck. I'm new to Tarot and appreciate the insights on how to interpret these cards. I think I'm going to pull out my new deck (Druidcraft Tarot) and see with fresh eyes.

I tend to have trouble interpreting all the court cards.
They don't seem to "speak to me" on a deeper level. You seem to understand the queen quite well.:-)
Great blog post

N.J., try naming them fictional characters. I know you are also a published author so it might be a useful trick for you as well.
I think this old queen is going to enjoy this excercise immensely. :)
Nice choice of cards.
xox
Oh you beautiful queen! As talented as you are, you MUST be the Queen of Wands!

Anne M, let me know what you see! I'm glad I could be of some help :)
