Truly we sometimes need Tower moments I think to clear away the useless and make room for something better to come round, great post as always!! And I love "Who Moved My Cheese" btw
I don't get terribly upset when I see the Tower in a reading. I guess I've been through enough strange and total changes it's almost expected, if not welcomed.
Do you read reversals? I find it hard to do those, especially with most of the major arcana and with the Tower, in particular. Or is that a subject for another day?
Regarding the eagles being the destroyer... it strikes me as a good lesson that sometimes change, even big, "cataclysmic" change is purely natural... just like a big, destructive attack by birds of prey might be a natural event...
The Tower startles me when I get it in a reading... but I try to look at it philosophically, you know, change is part of life and all that... nevertheless, it's hard not to get freaked out!
I really like your characterisation of the Tower card as a "rude awakening", with the tower itself signifying a false sense of self. Makes a lot of sense to me. I've always seen the Tower as a positive card - lightning is scary but it's also inspiring and energising. Smell the freedom! :D
Rose, Who Moved My Cheese was required reading at a place I worked and it really changed my world. For once, required work reading that did something, right?
Selaura, I don't do reversals but I'm working on a blog about why and how to read them if you do use them. :) I used to!
'Nette! Thank you SO very much. What you said aobut Eagles really spoke to me.
Kay, I really got a new sense of the Tower from your post. If anyone reads this, Kay is the co-creator of the new Quantum Tarot. Check her blog out! :)
